Beauty Trends To Look Out For

We can count on the beauty industry to offer fun, vibrant, and always creative trends each year. Although trends can change frequently, knowing that the next year’s look is already planned ahead of time gives us some comfort. Each year, there are various fashion weeks all over the globe. At these runways, designers and brands present the trends and looks for the coming year. New York hosted its Fashion Week in February. Meanwhile, Paris Fashion Week, Milan Fashion Week and London Fashion Week held their runway shows in September.

We can now compile the best beauty looks from all the major Fashion Weeks and predict the biggest beauty trends. Although some looks were notable for their consistency at the shows, there was a wide range of beauty looks that designers showed. It is possible to sort through the highlights and choose your favorites. To give you a wide selection of options, we asked top industry professionals what their favorite beauty trends.

The Top Beauty Trends

Some trends are enduring and popular. For example, bold brows (now called “soapbrows”) and balayage hair. Others return to the past with a new vibrancy and modern twist. The Y2K era has been a popular trend in beauty, and those who grew-up during this time are enjoying it. “I love how the Y2K trends of the 2000s have come back to life in 2020 and 2021. It is exciting to see that this trend will continue to be popular next year. As someone who grew up in the 2000s, I find it nostalgic and delightful to incorporate the trends that I have grown up with as an adult. The Y2K whirlwind brings back the best of Y2K fashion in chic and modern ways. It is like a cool older sister to all those 2000s kids who stumbled into fashion blindly. The Fashion Weeks brought back the best of Y2K style: small braids, chunky hair accessories and body glitter. Under eyes were also adorned with gems and other rhinestones. When I was a kid, bedazzling was a big idea. 2022’s use gems will be the next level of glow-up that the jewel trend needs.

Futuristic Designs

Some trends are reintroduced from the past. But you can still find evidence of humanity’s fascination with the future as far as history goes. Futurism is an artistic movement. It has its roots in pop culture and media that depicts imaginative futures of Sci-Fi. Futurism was also evident at Fashion Weeks’ runway shows, as evidenced by futuristic makeup looks. “Particle is all about the future of skincare. We engineer our products to combine science with beauty. So for me, the futuristic nod is my favorite look for. This was evident in the abstract lines and slicked-back hair. Also, I loved the futuristic nod with pale colors that evoke space like cool blues or unsaturated tones. At Particle, we believe that handsome is timeless. This is why our products reduce wrinkles and inflammation in the skin of aging. I love the idea of having smoother and softer skin that will last a lifetime. ”

Natural Makeup Looks

It is not surprising that makeup sales fell during the Covid-19 pandemic, when many of us were forced to live in our homes and had to cover our faces with masks. Products like foundation, blush, and lipstick were considered unnecessary at the time, with the exception of eye and eyebrow makeup, which became the focal point of attention due to the mask covering half of the face. Cult Beauty’s co-founder and CEO commented on the changes at the time. She said she didn’t expect dramatic makeup would return so quickly. In these times, attempting to project the glamour of full-face makeup feels unseemly. In the last few months, our aesthetic has changed and I don’t think the Insta-glamorous look will be making a quick comeback. As consumers opt for natural, less-contoured make-up, contour palettes are slowly disappearing. This category is experiencing the most success so far with lashes.
